This year, in second grade, the students will have further exposure to many different technology skills.

 

In Computers:

bullet We will continue our exploration and practice using      Microsoft Word for various projects in class. Students will have the opportunity to type and print out their finished Writer's Workshop stories.

Some of the software students will have access to daily during our Small Group Rotations are:

bullet Microsoft PowerPoint
bullet KidPix Deluxe 3
bullet Wordmaker
bullet Kidspiration

I hope to be doing an exchange rotation with three other teachers on the second grade team at my school. I will be introducing their students to technology and they will be working with my students in various areas such as: music, art and special projects. This will happen once a week.
 
bullet We will   have an expanded list of booksets to listen to at the Listening Center.
  
bullet We will continue to use Leap Pads, during Small Group Rotations, to reinforce basic skills.
