| We are so
excited to participate in this project. October first was the deadline to mail out letter,
and as of September 24th all of ours are in the mail. Here is just a little
glimpse of our letter---w. They were created on manilla cardstock,
but when I scanned them the cardstock color did not show up well.

We
brainstormed things that started with the letter w. Here is a list of some of the items we
came up with.
walrus
walnut whistle
watch wishing well
wrist whiskers wig
worm wagon
wall
walker wheel witch
waterfall wash (clothesline)
watermelon
Winne-the-Poo
And
best of all...we live in the town of
WOODLAND.....
Here are
some of the cuties we received...

Our Chicka
Book...in a binder with clear plastic sleeves |
 A D'nealian I...made into a picture
of an island |
The letter L- with all kinds of
"l" things pasted on |
The letter A.... colored by a student with apple
stickers and more |
The letter F- with fish, fruit and
other stickers |
The letter Q- a picture of the sign
and quarters all around |
The letter S...and a tongue twister
written by the student |

The letter M
decorated with m&m stamps.. |
 The letter O...made into an
octopus... |
Ideas that work:
- using construction paper or card
stock for the background...trim to paper sleeve size
- pictures of students doing
something related to the letter
- pasting on small items
(stickers, pictures and lightweight crafty stuff) I even had one with x-rays pasted on
Please do!
- let it be the students work
- let them write, color and cut
- touch up the "rough"
spots but let it be your students work
- HAVE FUN!
